After God is dead or perhaps just doesn't want to help. The last angel, Gabriel, defends the gates of Heaven against the onslaught of the denizens of Hell and the underworld. Will evil triumph in the end and all that is be thrown into darkness? Or will somehow good be victorious and restore the light to the world?
The sky was airbrushed first. Then the stairway in the background was completed first with traditional brushes, then the sky and light were added with an airbrush. The broken wall / gate and Gabriel were then completed with the demon and devils completing the scenario.
This piece was sold at Albuquerque Comic Con several years ago.
